The Top 25 Hottest Tickets in College Football

Austin, TX (PRWEB) August 22, 2007 -- For the third consecutive week the top three hottest college football games in the country remain Penn State versus Notre Dame, Michigan versus Ohio State and Notre Dame versus USC. Although the order of these games continues to shuffle as PSU/ND reclaims the top spot from ND/USC, the average price per ticket for each game continues to decrease as more tickets hit the secondary market.

"Notre Dame versus Penn State is still the hottest ticket in the country, even if the price has come down a bit," says Randy Cohen, CEO of TicketCity.com. "We're getting more calls and (web) hits on that game than any other. The (lower) price today is indicative of more available seats for sale on the secondary market. However, it's still the game that everyone wants to see."

TicketCity.com releases this week's (August 20th) list of the top 25 hottest games of 2007 based on average ticket price. The list was accumulated by compiling a majority of the available tickets on the secondary market throughout the entire country. The secondary market is comprised of over 800 established ticket brokers, and every fan who is listing extra tickets to sell.

Notre Dame claims the top spot, but demand for SEC tickets is growing at a rapid rate. Alabama versus LSU continues to be the hottest game moving up into the top 5 from 9th last week. Tulane versus LSU at the Superdome is the biggest jump of any game on the list moving from 57th into the top 25 ranking 22. SEC teams compose 5 of top 10 hottest games in the country, and 13 of the top 25.

"It's not a surprise that people want to see SEC games," states Rafael Rivas, Vice President of Sales at TicketCity.com. "Traditionally they have some of the most loyal fans in the country. The games in the SEC this year will be as big as any others in the country."

Cohen adds, "LSU versus Tulane may not be a game that is on everyone's radar across the country. But if you live in Louisiana, then the Superdome will be the place to be on September 29th. LSU fans are still pushing demand for their game at Alabama. They want to get up there to see their former coach (Saban)."

However, ticket prices are not going up on every game. Prices have fallen considerably on certain match-ups including the top 3 games: Georgia versus Florida, Michigan versus Notre Dame and Notre Dame versus Boston College.

"Demand is still high for all of the top college football games," says Rivas. "Many times the price softening is just the market being established. As more tickets are becoming available, some of the premium seats are being bought up. It's an evolving process, but there is definitely no lack of demand for any of the games on the list."

Does that mean that prices will continue to come down? "No," states Rivas. "There are not enough available seats for the top games to bring their prices down too far. There might be some slight variations week-to-week, but on the whole the demand will push prices higher as the season goes on."

Prices will continue to fluctuate throughout the 2007 season, and TicketCity.com will continue to update the hottest games list from week-to-week. View the top 25 games list on the TicketCity.com website at http://www.ticketcity.com/Top-25-Games.html

College Football Betting And Nfl Betting Are Not The Same Thing
There are at least a half-dozen factors that separate college football betting from NFL betting. For starters, action on college football is much more likely to come from sophisticated bettors, known as "sharps" or "wiseguys", who often possess some insight or kernel of information that may provide them with an edge against the house. Experienced bet takers know not to treat heavy activity on an obscure game, such as East Carolina versus Wake Forest, as casually as they might deal with increased wagering interest on a marquee NFL game such as a Redskins-Cowboys confrontation. For that reason, bookmakers usually move college football betting lines quickly, often one full point at a time. In general, it takes more money to move an NFL betting...
