The Top 50 Hottest Tickets in College Football Unveiled
Austin, TX (PRWEB) August 12, 2007 -- If you want to be inside Beaver Stadium in Happy Valley on September 9th, you better be ready to shell out some cash for your seats. The game that day between the Penn State Nittany Lions and Notre Dame Fighting Irish is the hottest ticket in college football right now. The average price per ticket for that game among ticket brokers around the country is $1,100 per ticket.
"Demand for Penn State versus Notre Dame is as high as we've seen for any game in the past few years," comments Randy Cohen, CEO of TicketCity.com. "There will be 100K plus people in there on game day to see one of the greatest match-ups this decade. Many of those fans will be turning to brokers to find those hard to get tickets."
Below, TicketCity.com releases the list of the top 50 hottest games of 2007 based on average price per ticket. The list was accumulated by compiling a majority of the available tickets on the secondary market throughout the entire country. The secondary market is comprised of over 800 established ticket brokers, and every fan who is listing extra tickets to sell.
Notre Dame is a popular team again this fall. They currently are in four of the top five hottest games for the upcoming season. The top five hottest games are: Penn State vs Notre Dame, Michigan vs Ohio State, Notre Dame vs USC, Michigan vs Notre Dame and Notre Dame vs Boston College.
"Notre Dame is always a big ticket, whether they are playing at home or on the road," states Zach Anderson, Vice President at TicketCity.com. "Love them or hate them, college football fans always want to see Notre Dame."
Many of the games on the list are those between traditional rivals. Auburn/Alabama, Florida/Georgia and Texas/Oklahoma are annually some of the hottest tickets in college football. The 2007 season is no exception with all three of those match-ups landing in the top ten hottest games of the season.
"The rivalry games are big every year," says Anderson. "Once you've been to them one time, you never want to miss it again. We have clients who buy their Red River Shootout (TX/OU) and Iron Bowl (Auburn/Bama) tickets from us every year. For them, nothing else matters other than making sure they are in that stadium for kick off."
Rutgers is again generating a lot of demand for their big home games in East Brunswick. Their game against West Virginia on October 27th rates 12th on the top 50 list. Also, Alabama has seen a huge surge in demand since the hiring of Nick Saban. The Iron Bowl (versus Auburn) and their home game against LSU both rank high on the list.
"The LSU game at Alabama should definitely wind up as one of the top 10 hottest games of the year," says Cohen. "LSU fans are already coming out in droves to get tickets and travel to see their former coach (Saban). It should be an amazing scene in the stadium that day."
Prices will continue to fluctuate throughout the season. Once the season begins, TicketCity.com will update the hottest games list from week-to-week to include the top 25 games. View the top 50 games list below or visit the TicketCity.com web site at http://www.ticketcity.com/Top-25-Games.html

Should There Be A Play-Off In NCAA Football?
There are many differences in the NCAA football and NFL football. For one, the rules are totally different in college football than the NFL. In the NFL, when a player catches a ball, he must have both feet in bounds, yet in college football, it?s only necessary for them to have one foot in bounds. That is certainly a big difference, especially when players from the NCAA have to adjust how they play after being drafted into the NFL. Another major different in the two types of football is when there is a pass interference. In the NCAA, it would be considered a fifteen-yard penalty, but in the NFL, the players are penalized from the spot of the foul.

Fork Union Military Academy Outraged by Inclusion on NCAA List
School officials at Fork Union Military Academy are baffled by their inclusion on a list of schools subject to further review published yesterday by the National Collegiate Athletic Association. The NCAA has been under pressure to better regulate the upsurge in specialized “prep schools” that seek to give athletes the mantle of college eligibility while offering little in the way of education. “Fork Union is not in that category, we’ve been around for 109 years.” states General Jackson. “Our record of academic achievement stands on its own and to question the rigor, without even visiting the campus, or, at the very least, telling the Academy what concern it may have, underscores the lack of sensitivity an...
2007 NCAA Football Heisman's Trophy
Winning the Heisman Trophy does not guarantee a college football player a long and successful pro career, although every football player would love the bronze statue displayed on their mantle.
